A simple peanut butter cookie recipe with the addition of Monster Mix to give it a twist.
I like cookies, and one of my favorite cookies of all time are just simple peanut butter cookies. I’ve tried a bunch of different recipes, but the one I used today actually came from a friend of mine. This friend, Emma, brought them into work one day and I loved them, so I asked for the recipe. The core cookie recipe here is what she gave me.

The cookies themselves are very simple. It’s your usual mixture of flour, baking soda, salt, shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and milk, with a bit of vanilla and some peanut butter to mix together. Like I said, it’s a really simple recipe. See, here are the ingredients:

Cream together the sugars, shortening, and PB. Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla, beat together, then mix the rest. Then, I added in the Monster Mix.
I just buy my Monster Mix from Target, but it’s honestly a simple mixture to make at home if you want to. It’s a good sort of trail mix to begin with. Just mix together equal amounts of:
- Peanuts
- M&Ms
- Raisins
- Chocolate Chips
- Peanut Butter Chips
There you go! Easy trail mix.
Now, fair warning: this makes a lot of cookies. The quantities listed in the recipe below makes about 48 cookies. That’s a lot just for me and my partner to eat, so I’m looking for ways to deal with the excess. I’m going to start talking to friends and neighbors and see who I can rope into eating our tasty treats.

Incidentally, I’ve decided to start picking up some fitness activities. Various health issues (not related to cookie consumption, I swear!) have pushed me to decide I need to do something more than I have been. We’ve been going on daily walks, and it’s been nice, but it’s not really helping with some of my more annoying health concerns.
It’s not really important to the recipe to say this, but hey, it means you might be seeing a few more health-food style recipes from me in the future. For now, though: enjoy this recipe!
