Ingredients
1CupWhite Sugar
3CupsWater
1LbFresh Strawberries
1CupFresh Lemon JuiceAbout 5 large lemons juiced.
Instructions
Pour one cup of water and your sugar into your sauce pan. Bring it to a simmer and heat for about 3-4 minutes while the sugar dissolves and it thickens. This makes a simple syrup.
Using a blender, puree your strawberries. Pour the puree through a strainer to remove bits of pulp and seeds. You can add it directly to your pitcher. I found using the rubber spatula to work it through the strainer was essential.
Add the lemon juice, simple syrup, and remaining water to the strawberry puree in the pitcher. Stir to combine. Add more water if you want to make the beverage last a little longer.
Chill, or serve immediately over ice. I like to garnish with some chopped frozen strawberries as well!
