Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Rubber Spatula

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • Cups Chopped Onions Any kind will do; about 3 medium onions.
  • ¾ Tsp Salt
  • ½ Tsp Onion Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Pepper
  • ¼ Tsp Cayenne
  • 4 Oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • ½ Cup Sour Cream
  • ¼ Cup Mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onions, salt, pepper, onion powder, and cayenne. Cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes. Then, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the onions cook until they caramelize, stirring occasionally. You'll need at least 30-45 minutes for this, if not longer.
  • Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo in a bowl until smooth and combined.
  • Let the onions cool, and then add them to the cream mixture. Stir this until combined.
  • Chill overnight in the fridge to let the flavors combine, then enjoy with your favorite chips or crackers.
