Peanut Butter Bars

Simple and decadent peanut butter bars, evolved from a recipe I've been making since my childhood.
Servings 9 Bars
Prep Time 20 minutes
Chill Time 1 hour

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Baking Dish (8x8 or 9x9)
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 11 Tbsp Butter One stick + 3 Tbsp
  • 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 Cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Cup Chocolate Chips I used peanut butter and chocolate chips for this one.

Instructions

  • In your sauce pan, melt 1 stick of butter.
  • Add the peanut butter and melt it, stirring constantly to mix it with the butter until smooth.
  • Turn off the heat, then add the powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Mix to combine.
  • Grease and line your baking dish with parchment paper (to make the bars easier to remove when they're done.)
  • Add the peanut butter mix to the baking sheet and smooth out.
  • Melt the remaining 3 Tbsp of butter in the sauce pan.
  • Add the chocolate chips and stir until they're melted and it's mixed together.
  • Pour the chocolate over the top of the peanut butter mixture and spread it evenly.
  • Chill the bars for at least 1 hour, or until cool and solid.
  • Keep them refridgerated! You can let them warm up a bit to make cutting them easier, though.
